Auctions are generally held every other week (this schedule is subject to change, check the calendar for dates). Auctions are held on Wednesdays, and begin at 3:00 p.m. ET. Previews are held the day before the auction from 2-8 p.m. and on the day of the auction from 12-3 p.m. Our photo preview is updated frequently in the weeks leading up to the auction, and the auction catalog is posted by 2 p.m. the day before the auction. You can download a PDF version of the catalog to print at home, view it on your phone or tablet, or purchase a printed copy at the auction.
While many people bid in-person at our gallery in Dover, NJ, we also accept absentee and telephone bids.
Absentee and telephone bids can be submitted both in-person or via email, fax or telephone. For any bids set up over the phone or via fax or email, we strongly recommend submitting them no later than one hour prior to the start of the auction to ensure proper execution. For telephone or absentee bids, both a copy of our bid sheet and an online bid form can be accessed below - simply fill out the online form and submit it, or fill out the PDF and return it to us either by email or fax. For phone bids, write "phone" in the "top limit of bid..." column - someone from our staff will contact you a few minutes before the lot is sold to assist you in bidding. While we generally accept phone bids on any item in the auction, we recommend submitting any phone bids no later than one hour before the start of the auction as we only have a limited number of phone lines and they can fill up quickly.
In addition to in-person, telephone and absentee bids, we accept online bidding for a select number of items from each auction through LiveAuctioneers. You can access our auctions on LiveAuctioneers here. Items for which online bidding is available will have a notation in both their description in the photo preview, as well as in the auction catalog. Please note, even if you have previously registered and bid with Berman's, you must also register with LiveAuctioneers to bid online.
We require a credit card to keep on file for all first-time bidders.
Sales Tax & Buyer's Premium
Our buyer's premium is 23% for credit and debit cards and 20% for payments made via cash or approved check. Our buyer's premium for bidding online through LiveAuctioneers is 25%.
All buyers are required to pay 6.875% NJ Sales Tax on purchases, unless you have a valid resale number. We must have a completed ST-3 (NJ) or ST-3NR (Out of State) on file for all buyers with a resale number. You can access these forms below and then submit them to us in person or via mail, fax or email.

After the Auction
Buyers are expected to pay in full within five days of the auction date, and pick up merchandise within two weeks. We are not responsible for items left after 30 days. If you cannot pick up your items within this time frame, please contact us as soon as possible to make arrangements.
We do not ship on premises, but work closely with a local UPS Store and can help you arrange for shipping if needed. We do not deliver, but can recommend trucking and shipping services for larger items.
