We advertise in the largest antique trade papers, and send out flyers to over 3,000 dealers and private collectors. We will tailor our advertising to your individual needs.
Whether we purchase from you, or auction for you - a single item, a private collection, an antique shop liquidation, or an entire estate - our knowledge and experience will enable us to handle your merchandise in a professional and confidential manner.
Our auctions are held every other Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. The merchandise is on display for inspection the Tuesday preceding each sale from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to auction time.
Our sales are always cataloged and estimated. We accept absentee bids, as well as phone bids. A 21% buyer's premium is added to each purchase, and New Jersey sales tax when applicable. There is a 1% discount for payment with cash or pre-approved check.
“Berman’s Barn” first opened its doors in downtown historic Dover, New Jersey in 1973. Despite our cramped quarters, the quality and quantity of the merchandise improved with each sale. Word of this new antique and collectible auction gallery quickly spread, to the point that each sale became “standing room only.”
The little red barn has now become an auction gallery with a display area of over 10,000 square feet, and a storage area of over 10,000 square feet, with a seating capacity for 500 people. Nevertheless, we have remained the close-knit, family business that began over 40 years ago.
